Water & Waste Treatment

Overview

ICL is a leading provider of solutions for different types of waste and water treatments that improve the standard of water to make it suitable for a specific end-use. Phosphoric acid is used in water and waste treatments to neutralize contaminants and control bacterial growth, and bromide is used as a biocide in microbial water treatment and as a disinfectant on water reservoirs. Phosphates are used for pH control on industrial boilers to prevent corrosion and loss of efficiency.

Domains

Bromine based organic intermediates

ICL is a leading bromine-based organic intermediates supplier. Bromine is very effective against bacterial growth and is used as an alternative disinfectant for swimming pools, spas, and cooling tower water.

Microbial solutions

ICL biocides and antimicrobials from Dead Sea Bromine span a range of applications for microbial water treatment from swimming pools to cooling tower disinfection as an alternative to chlorine. Bromine-based biocides are highly effective in the prevention and removal of biofilm. Waste treatment facilities rely on microbiological activity to reduce the chemical and biological oxygen demand of the effluents. To achieve optimal bacterial growth, phosphoric acid is the material of choice, it is also used for the neutralization of alkaline materials in waste treatment.

Boiler system and feedwater

ICL is a leading phosphate manufacturer. Phosphates are key to protecting boiler systems and treat boiler feedwater entering the system. By using sodium phosphate the deposition of solids is reduced and prevents boilers from loss of efficiency and possible failure. Boiler feedwater can be protected from corrosive conditions through coordinated phosphate-pH control treatment. Phosphates can be fed into the system in a solution with other water conditioning chemicals.

Phosphorus based inorganic intermediates

ICL is a global manufacturer of intermediates based on yellow phosphorus. These Phosphorus based inorganic intermediates are used as components in water treatment chemicals.

Waste treatment

ICL is a leading sodium phosphate and polyphosphates manufacturer. The functionality of phosphate salts is ideal for the fabrication of hazardous waste containment.
